The municipal terme of Rubió, of 38.5 km², limits both the termes bagencs of Castellfollit del Boix (NE) and Aguilar de Segarra (N) and both the termes de l'Anoia dels Prats de Rei (NW), Copons (W) , Jorba (S) and Òdena (S and E). It is located in the NE sector of the region, on the border with el Bages. The Serra de Rubió forms, in a NE-SW direction, the eix del territori i separava antigament les sotsvegueries d'Igualada i dels Prats de Rei; It is now the dividing line between the waters that flow to l'Anoia through the Rubió stream and those that flow to the Cardener through the Maçana stream (a tributary to the Rajadell stream). This mountain range, covered by pine and alzines forests, culminates in the Còpia de Palomes, 837 m high (at the limit of the Òdena terme). The southern vessants of the mountain feed the well-known Riera de Rubió that flows to l'Anoia from the terme de Jorba.
