Capellades is a town and municipality in Catalonia located in the Anoia region. With a great industrial tradition since the 18th century, it has numerous and very important paper, textile and electrical and mechanical component companies. The Molí Paperer Museum is particularly relevant, a true benchmark on a global scale.
The municipality of Capellades is the smallest in the Anoia region, with 2.95 km². It is bordered by the terms of La Torre de Claramunt (N and W), Cabrera d'Anoia (S) and Vallbona d'Anoia (E). The term is located in the Anoia valley, in the place where the river cuts the Serralada Prelitoral Catalana forming the so-called strait or gorge of Capellades and already leaves the Conca d'Òdena to head towards the Penedès . The gorge opens its way between the Serra de Miramar (596 m) on the left, with the ridges of Llobreia, the Brugar, the Fitó, the Colls Bessons and the Llangònies, and a powerful quaternary travertine terrace, on the right, above the paleozoic licorelles and the granite, forming a cliff of ledges and covals of pumice stone and the canopy or hat of Capelló, where there are the important prehistoric sites of the term (Romaní shelter and the Agut station).
Old paper mill from the 18th century, called "Molí de la Vila", it is a building with an area of 2,200 m2 and consists of four floors and a basement. Next to the Mill is La Bassa; natural source from which a flow of 12 million liters a day flows, used as energy for the operation of the 16 paper mills that worked in this area.
